May 11, 2010 at 6:00 PM: Final general meeting of the season will be our annual end-of-season feast. We will have a barbecue/potluck. We hope to have live music as well. The festivities begin at 6:00PM. Hope to see you there!
May 1, 2010 at 9:00 AM: IOA Spring annual work day to spruce up the IOA Hall and grounds. We will mostly focus on cleaning up the grounds, weed removal and such. Bring yard maintenance tools, rakes, pruners, etc.
April 13, 2010 at 7:00 PM: Recently, a critical big game wintering area near Boise, known as Hammer Flat, was spared the construction of a 1,350 unit planned community. The long struggle to save this very special place was spearheaded by Anthony Jones and his organization, SaveThePlateau.org. Mr. Jones will give us a presentation about Hammer Flat and how it was saved and placed under the protection of the Boise River Wildlife Management Area. This was a huge victory for local conservation! Ed Bottums, who oversees the BRWMA for the Idaho Fish and Game Department, might also drop by to talk about the area's resident wildlife.Mar 9, 2010 at 7:00 PM: Photographer Dave Kesner Returns with his 3D photography, featuring caves. Feb 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM: General Meeting. IOA's resident writer Sandy Epeldi will preview his latest work, "Exploring Boise's Backcountry" and discuss the Endless Trail Book Project.
Jan 12, 2010 at 7:00 PM: General Meeting. Brian Ertz from the Western Watersheds Project talks about, "The Unequivocal Removal of Livestock from Public Lands".
Dec 8, 2009 at 6:00 PM: Christmas Potluck. IOA will provide the main course, and everyone is requested to being a dish to share.
Nov 10, 2009 at 7:00 PM: General Meeting. Wildlife biologist Brian Fedigan will present a program about the grizzly bears of Alaska's McNeil River Sanctuary.

Jan 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM: Jump Creek Icefall Hike. We will meet at the Jump Creek Trailhead which is located about an hour drive from Boise near Marsing. To get there take I84 to Nampa. Access Hwy 55 and follow it to Marsing. Continue a couple of miles past Marsing to a left-hand turn onto Hwy95. Proceed about two and a half miles on Hwy95 to Poisen Creek Rd. Turn right on Poison Creek Rd and proceed four or five miles to a turn off to Jump Creek Canyon-- You will see the entrance of the canyon at this point which is where the trailhead is. Pack water, food and any other personal items you might need for a short day hike. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Anyone interested is welcome to join us. Dec 16, 2007 at 1:00 PM River Canyon Trail Hike. We will meet at the River Canyon Trailhead which is located about an hour drive from Boise near Swan Falls Dam. From Kuna drive south on Swan Falls Rd to Swan Falls Dam. At the dam turn right (down river) and drive another 4 miles to the end of the road where the trail begins. Pack water, food and any other personal items you might need for a day hike. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Anyone interested is welcome to join us. May19-21: The Bluegrass Association will have a 3 day "jam session" at Three Island State Park in Glens Ferry, ID. IOA members are welcome to attend.
