Planetary Parade Viewing

  • Tuesday, January 21, 2025
  • 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Bonneville Point

Registration is closed

Join us for an astronomical event! In lieu of our usual hump day hike, we will assemble to share a viewing of a "planetary parade". Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Venus, and Saturn will be in alignment in the eastern sky. The most distant planets are not visible to the naked eye, so bring good binoculars, or better yet, a telescope if you have one.

Be prepared for the cold winter night. Bundle up in layers and bring a thermos of something warm to sip on.

We will meet at the Bonneville Point historical display at 7:00pm. Bonneville Point is ten miles east of Boise. Take the Blacks Creek exit (#64) off Interstate 84. Travel north on Blacks Creek Road for four miles, then turn left at a sign for Bonneville Point.

See you there!
