Lucky Peak Reservoir Hike

Join us for our March Hump Day Hike at Lucky Peak Reservoir. Our objective is to explore the remnants of ancient geothermal occurrences and the resulting mineralization, specifically zeolites. Don't worry, it won't be as nerdy as it sounds.

The hike is mostly off trail, but not particularly difficult. We will simply walk down to the reservoir, then traverse along its shore. For those in the group who want more of a challenge, we can scramble a short distance upslope to visit a unique cacti colony.

We will gather at the Turner Gulch Parking Area at 5:45, then begin walking at 6:00 sharp. If you arrive late, you will likely see our group walking along the reservoir and you can catch up.

To get to Turner Gulch, simply drive across Lucky Peak Dam and follow the road to its end.
