Protecting Our Public Lands
Presentation from Idaho Conservation League’s, Public Lands and Wildlife Director, John Robison
Idaho's Public Lands are an integral part of who we are and why we live here. Our public lands provide unparalleled recreation opportunities - from rock climbing to whitewater rafting, hunting, fishing, and host some of the best trail systems anywhere. However, Idahoans came perilously close to losing our millions of acres of public lands this summer following a proposal to privatize these public lands.
While we were able to stop this proposal this time, the threat hasn't gone away. In addition, political appointees are slashing the budgets of public lands agencies like the Forest Service and BLM and thousands of federal employees who manage these lands on our behalf, have been fired. Join John Robison to hear the latest news and find out what you can do to protect your public lands. The Idaho Conservation League is a statewide conservation group dedicated to protecting the air you breathe, the water you drink, and the lands and wildlife you love. John has been working on public lands issues for ICL since 2002.
