Join us for a casual walk and exploration of the Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve. Unlike most of our hikes, this will be a short and easy walk through a "natural space" within the city. The goal is to view some wildlife, primarily birds.
Per the city website: Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve is a 53-acre haven for birds, animals and people located on the edge of Boise's West Bench featuring trailheads, pathways and overlook areas.
Of special interest: The reserve is also home to an innovative storm water treatment pilot project. Public Works staff members have been gathering water quality data and developing a plan for treating urban storm water runoff and re-using the treated storm water in the existing wetland and wildlife sanctuary.
Please note that this outing is on a Tuesday unlike the usual Wednesday. Also, pets are not allowed, only service dogs. Meet us at the reserve parking area at 5301 N Maple Grove Rd, Boise.
See you there!
Nonprofit professionals and community organizers are invited to a special evening workshop hosted by Chatcolab and the Idaho Outdoor Association. With over seven decades of experience, Chatcolab offers a living model of inter-generational leadership, volunteerism, and community resilience. Dr. Kevin M. Laughlin, Ph.D., will lead this interactive session, offering practical tools for board development, strategic planning, and outreach.
This event is free and open to the general public. See you there!
Mardi Gras is returning to the IOA Hall! The evening will include traditional Mardi Gras fare, Jell-O shots, Hurricanes and a photo area. Of course, costumes are encouraged! Our entertainment for the evening will be the ever popular and hilarious “Gameshow Rip-Off".
The menu will include; Mardi Gras Salad, Corn Bread, Red Beans and Rice, and Jambalaya. Let's not forget the King Cake! There will also be appetizers, beads, music and lively camaraderie to get the party started.
This year we are doing a silent auction with fun and fabulous prizes. You will probably see something you want, so come prepared to bid!
Admission is: $15 for members, $25 for nonmembers, $30 for nonmember event admission + an IOA membership. The funds raised from this event help to sustain the Idaho Outdoor Association. Thank you for your support.
We ask that everyone leave their K9 friends at home, since there will be too many food temptations. Also, we won't have any activities for children, so they would probably be happier at home.
Thanks for registering and we are looking forward to seeing you!
